Scott K Jensen

September 10, 1954 ~ June 7, 2020 (age 65)

Scott Kendell Jensen, 65, of Fountain City passed away peacefully at home with family by his side Sunday, June 7, 2020.

He was born Sept. 10, 1954, in Sioux Center, Iowa, to Kenneth and Mildred (DenBeste) Jensen.

Scott married the love of his life, Carol (Kamrowski) Jensen, in 1984 at Most Sacred Heart Parish in Pine Creek, Wis. During their nearly 35 years as husband and wife, they welcomed two sons, Aaron in 1986 and Colin in 1988.

At 17 years old, Scott enlisted in the Army National Guard with his best friend Mike Mueller of Winona. Many of Scott’s fellow guardsmen became like family during his 20 years of service, bonding over a shared dedication to their country and a penchant for harmless shenanigans. Always quick to break the ice with a welcoming smile and joke, friendship and family are themes that continued to endure throughout Scott’s life.

While serving in the Army, Scott also worked for Wilbert Burial Vaults and Bay State Milling. More recently, he was employed at Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical. He retired in the summer of 2019.

Alongside his family and work, Scott cherished motor sports (including “The King” of NASCAR, #43 Richard Petty) and his pristine 1970 Plymouth Road Runner, which he showed many times at area car shows in the past 43 years. Scott particularly enjoyed sharing these passions with Aaron, Colin and his young grandsons, Kayden and Kallen.

Scott’s faith was strong and he was a devoted member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Winona. You could find him in the balcony there nearly every Sunday morning.

Those who knew Scott will forever miss the light he brought to every party, his performances on air guitar, and his unconditional support as a brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Scott is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Aaron (Kristina) Jensen of Winona and Colin (Amy) Jensen of Winona; two grandsons, Kayden and Kallen Jensen (sons of Aaron and Kristina); three sisters, Sue Davis of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Jan (Mark) Erwin of Winona; and Julie (Dan) Sammann of Winona; a brother, Lee (Traci) Jensen of Winona; two brothers-in-law Edward (Rose) Kamrowski of Dodge and Roger Kamrowski of Dodge; a sister-in-law Rosemary (Dan) Bambenek of Fountain City; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Virginia Jensen.

A service of remembrance will be at 1 p.m., Friday, June 12 at Most Sacred Heart Parish in Pine Creek, with the Rev. Kyle Laylan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Winona Area Hospice Services, which cared for Scott with compassion and grace.
