Wayne D. Olson, 52, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at his home after a brief battle with cancer. He was born December 17, 1965 to Ralph Sr. and Arvilla Olson of Pickwick. Wayne was a 1984 graduate of Winona Senior High where he was active in football, often retelling tales of playing against Darryl Thomas when WinHawks played against him.
Wayne was an active outdoorsman having lifetime memberships in White-tail Deer Hunter's Association, National Wildlife Turkey Federation and North American Fishing Club. In addition, he was an avid MN Twins fan, San Francisco 49ers fan and would often be seen playing a game of pool at many local establishments.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Jean, Glynis and Marlin, both paternal and maternal grandparents and father-in-law Roger Morgan. He is survived by his wife Barbara of Dyersville, Iowa; sisters Dixie Olson of rural Winona, Onalee (Gerry) Zeller of Pickwick; brothers Merlin of Winona, Ralph Jr. (Kris) of rural LaCrescent, numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, mother-in-law Lorie Morgan of Winona; sisters-in-law Michelle (Anthony) McLain of Hiddeite, NC and Cathy Morgan of Winona.
Honorary pallbearers will be his godchildren: Brittany Zeller, Belinda Olson, Brandon Stoos and Sydney Jacobson.
