Pierce was born on September 4, 1924 to Paul and Elizabeth (Pierce) Wittenberg. Pierce started working at a very early age on his family farm in Rollingstone, MN. He later started his own business transporting bulk milk from area farms. The business grew and became his life’s career for over 50 years. After retiring he opened a small antique store with his wife Millie enjoying their time together buying and selling antique furniture.
Pierce also loved playing accordion in a polka band at dances. He met his wife playing at a dance and they danced through life for 70 years into their 90’s.
Survivors include his son Bruce (Debbie); grandchildren Jacob, Danielle, Emily, Sean, Scott; great-grandson Tristin; siblings Patricia (Gerald) Anderson, Sun City West, AZ, Donald Wittenberg, Rochester, MN, Carolee Peterson, San Jose CA, Shirley Sonsalla, Sun City West, AZ,Theresa Zirkle, New Bern, N. Carolina. Pierce was preceded in death by his wife Millie (Eskelson), siblings Sister M Celestine, Robert Wittenberg, Lois Tobin, Richard Wittenberg, Edward Wittenberg, Paul Wittenberg.
A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with visitation starting at 9:30 at Fawcett Junker Funeral Home, Winona, MN. Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Rollingstone.
