Obituary

Margaret V. Johnson, 82 of Winona, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Winona Health.

Margaret Veronica Johnson was born March 8, 1936, in Winona, MN to Stanislous and Florence (Paine) Drazkowski.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, and attended St. Stanislaus Elementary School.  She was formerly married to Jim Critzman. On October 1, 1960, she married Lester Johnson, who preceded her in death in 1982.  She was formerly employed at Lake Center Switch and Brach’s Candy both in Winona.

Her Catholic faith was a big part of her life, as she attended Mass at any of the Winona area catholic churches.  She loved horses, fishing, bingo, Walker Texas Ranger and was a frequent flier at Treasure Island. Margaret was very passionate of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

Margaret is survived by four children:  Pat (Dennis) Benson; Ronny Johnson; Mitch (Carol) Johnson; and Dennis Johnson; 11 grandchildren-including Brittany Johnson and April Johnson; 20 great grandchildren; two sisters: Helen Dietrich and Julie (Wendel) Nelson; two brothers:  Richie Drazkowski; Jim Drazkowski and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lester; daughter Jennifer Dresselhaus; two sisters: Theresa Winters and Rosie Morgan; three brothers:  Adam, Paul and Bernard and a brother in infancy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Winona.  Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Minneiska, MN.  Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
