Elizabeth “Betty” A. Seeling, 86 of Hastings, MN and formerly of Winona, MN, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 11, 2018 at her home.
Elizabeth Ann was born to Fred and Dorothy (Thompson) Lueders on October 14, 1931 and lived on a farm outside of Perham, MN. She graduated from Perham High School and spent a school year in Olivia, MN with her grandparents. After graduation, she traveled the great United States of America. Betty married Richard Seeling on October 2, 1954. They had six children and later divorced.
Betty worked many years at Winona Knitting Mills as a master sewer. Additionally, she was a past president and a lifetime member of the Eagles Club Auxiliary of Winona and was active at the Hastings Senior Center.
Outside of work and devoting time with her children, she loved sewing, making hairpin lace, jewelry, and crafting. Betty was also an avid fan of all things blue grass and country western, NASCAR, and of course never missed a Minnesota Twins game! Passionate about flowers, she was known as a ‘green thumb’ who could even place a stick in water and make it grow.
She is survived by her six children: Susan (John) Seeling-Ridilla, Karen (Tim) Seeling-McInnis, Wanda (Tom) Ryan, Anita Seeling, Joni Seeling and Jeff (Bev) Seeling; seven grandchildren: Holly (Mike), Sheena (Adam), Shaun (Sarah), Alex, Kevin, Kylie, and Claire; great grandchildren: Riley, Amelia, and one more on the way; her sister Laraine Paulsen and brother Charles “Russell” Lueders; former husband Richard Seeling and additional relatives.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Dorothy Lueders, her brother Richard Lueders, and her sister Corinne Newell.
The visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Fawcett Junker Funeral Home in Winona, MN with a Celebration of Life Service at 4 p.m. with Rev. Wade Davick officiating.
