Blanche D. Peters, 76, of Winona, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018. Blanche was born on February 11, 1942 in Volga, SD to Clarence and Ada (Hoff) Wosje. Blanche was very proud of being from South Dakota and dreamed of someday having a ranch.
On June 15, 1963, Blanche married Curtis D. Peters in Volga, SD. They made their home in Winona. Blanche earned an associate degree from WSU. She worked as an account clerk at WSU, retiring in 2000. In retirement, she volunteered at Central Lutheran Church and Grace Place. She was a long-time member of Central Lutheran Church. She helped out on the Funeral Committee and belonged to the Priscilla Circle.
Blanche had many hobbies. She enjoyed gardening. She was an excellent cook with cinnamon rolls as her specialty. She spent many hours working jigsaw puzzles. Blanche’s favorite hobby was traveling. When their children were young, Blanche would plan the family summer vacation that took them all over the United States. Curt and Blanche visited 49 of 50 states with Alaska being the ultimate journey.
Preceded in death by her parents and a sister Sylvia Muilenburg. Blanche is survived by her husband of 54 years, Curt; children Mark, of Winston Salem, NC; Jill, of Winona; grandchildren Rachel and Nick; brothers Duane (Carol) Wosje, David (Linda) Wosje, Carl Wosje, Walter (Yvonne) Wosje; sister Rhoda (Howard) Siewert; brother-in-law Gene Muilenburg; many other relatives and friends.
